ফরিদপুর পৌরসভার উদ্যোগে এবং জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সার্বিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় মুজিব বর্ষ পৌর গোল্ডকাপ টুর্নামেন্ট আজ থেকে শহরের শেখ জামাল স্টেডিয়াম আরম্ভ হয়েছে।
নক আউট পদ্ধতিতে টুর্ণামেন্টে মোট ২৭ টি দল অংশগ্রহণ করছে।
টুর্নামেন্টের উদ্বোধনী খেলায় ১০ নং ওয়ার্ড একাদশ ১-০ গলে ১৮ নং ওয়ার্ড একাদশকে পরাজিত করে পরবর্তী পর্বে উন্নীত হয়।
এর আগে প্রধান অতিথি থেকে খেলার উদ্বোধন করেন ফরিদপুর জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এডভোকেট শামসুল হক ভোলা মাস্টার, অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক সার্বিক দীপক কুমার রায়, ফরিদপুর জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এডভোকেট সুবল চন্দ্র সাহা, সাধারণ সম্পাদক বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা শহীদ মাসুদ হোসেন, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সহ-সভাপতি বিশিষ্ট সমাজসেবক শামীম হক, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সহ-সভাপতি বিশিষ্ট ব্যবসায়ী একে আজাদ, অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার ভারপ্রাপ্ত সাধারণ সম্পাদক হাজী মোঃ মোসলেম উদ্দিন, অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন পৌর সভার মেয়র অমিতাভ বোস।
অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন ফরিদপুর পৌরসভার নির্বাহী প্রকৌশলী শামসুল আলম, অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা করেন ফরিদপুর পৌরসভার সচিব তানজিলুর রহমান।
সভায় বক্তারা এ ধরনের আয়োজন করার জন্য পৌর মেয়র কে ধন্যবাদ জানান। তারা বলেন মহামারী করনার কারণে ফরিদপুর এর ক্রীড়াঙ্গন কয়েক বছর পিছিয়ে গেছিল এখন থেকে নিয়মিত খেলাধুলা হবে।
সভায় বক্তারা এখান থেকে ভালো খেলোয়ার বেরিয়ে আসবে। শুধু ফুটবল নয় সব ধরনের খেলা হবে বলে আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন।
এরপর প্রতিযোগিতার একমাত্র ম্যাচে ১০ নং ওয়ার্ড একাদশ ১-০ গোলে ১৮ নং ওয়াড একাদশ কে পরাস্ত করে.। বিজয়ী দলের পক্ষে খেলার প্রথমার্ধের ২১ মিনিটে জয়সূচক গোলটি করেন লিখন।
তাকে ম্যান অব দ্য ম্যাচ পুরস্কার ঘোষণা করা হয়।
উল্লেখযোগ্য সংখ্যক দর্শক এই খেলাটি উপভোগ করে।
আজ কোমরপুর আব্দুল আজিজ ইনস্টিটিউশনে টুর্নামেন্টের পরের ম্যাচে ৮ নং ওয়ার্ড দল খেলবে ২ নং ওয়ার্ড দলের বিপক্ষে।
