বাবা-মায়ের সাথে ঘুরতে গিয়ে মোটর সাইকেল চাপায় প্রাণ গেল ছয় বছরের শিশু সুরাইয়ার। নিহত শিশুটি ফরিদপুর জেলার বোয়ালমারী উপজেলার ময়না ইউনিয়নের হাটখোলারচর গ্রামের ভ্যান চালক গোলজার শেখের মেয়ে। মঙ্গলবার (১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকেল ৫টায় বোয়ালমারী উপজেলার পার্শ্ববর্তী মহম্মদপুরের শেখ হাসিনা সেতুর উপর এই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে।
জানা যায়, মঙ্গলবার বিকেলে গোলজার শেখ সস্ত্রীক উপজেলার পার্শ্ববর্তী মহম্মদপুর উপজেলার শেখ হাসিনা সেতুতে ঘুরতে যান। এ সময় তার তিন মেয়েও সাথে ছিল। সেতুতে ঘোরাঘুরির এক পর্যায়ে বেপরোয়া গতির এক মোটরসাইকেল চাপায় গোলজারের মেজ মেয়ে সুরাইয়া ঘটনাস্থলেই নিহত হন। ওই দুর্ঘটনায় মোটরসাইকেল আরোহী দুই জন আহত হয়েছে। আহতরা হলেন ফরিদপুর জেলার আলফাডাঙ্গা উপজেলার সোহান (২২) ও সাজিদ (২০)। তাদের ফরিদপুর বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে। আহত সাজিদ মহম্মদপুর থানায় উপ-পুলিশ পরিদর্শক হিসেবে কর্মরত রাকিব হোসেনের ভাতিজা।
এ ব্যাপারে মহম্মদপুর থানার অফিসার ইন চার্জ (ওসি) মো. নাসির হোসেন বলেন, বিকেল পাঁচটার দিকে শেখ হাসিনা সেতুতে মোটরসাইকেল দুর্ঘটনায় বোয়ালমারীর হাটখোলারচর গ্রামের শিশু সুরাইয়া ঘটনাস্থলেই নিহত হয়েছে। মোটরসাইকেল আরোহী আহত দুইজনকে ফরিদপুর বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসার জন্য পাঠানো হয়েছে।
