‘নদী ভাঙলে জমি খাস’ এ আইন বাতিলের দাবিতে জামালপুরের সরিষাবাড়ীতে মানববন্ধন, লিফলেট বিতরণ ও তিন দিনের নৌযাত্রা শুরু করেছে নদীভাঙা চরের মানুষ।
শুক্রবার দুপুর ১২টার দিকে উপজেলার ঝালুপড়া ব্রিজপাড় মোড়ে বাংলাদেশ কৃষক সমিতি ও ‘নদী ভাঙলে জমি খাস’ আইন বাতিল সংগ্রাম কমিটির উদ্যোগে এ কর্মসূচি পালন করা হয়। জামালপুরের সরিষাবাড়ী উপজেলা ও সিরাজগঞ্জের কাজিপুর উপজেলার আবাদি জমি, ভিটা বাড়িসহ সর্বস্ব নদীর গর্ভে বিলীন হওয়া চরাঞ্চলের মানুষ এতে অংশ গ্রহণ করেন । ‘নদী ভাঙবে আমার জমি আমার থাকবে, জমি কেন খাস হবে’ এ স্লোগানে কর্মসূচি চলাকালে মানববন্ধনকারীরা বলেন, জমি নদীর গর্ভে বিলীন হলে সে জমির মালিকা থাকে না। যার ফলে নদী গর্ভে বিলীন হওয়া জমির খাজনা-খারিজ ও ক্রয় বিক্রয় বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। তাই পি,ও-১৩৫/৭২ আইন বাতিল করে ১৯৫০ সালের প্রজাস্বত্ব আইনের ৮৬ ধারা চালু ও বাস্তবায়নের দাবিতে ওই কর্মসূচি পালন করা হয়।
‘নদী ভাঙলে জমি খাস’ আইন বাতিল সংগ্রাম কমিটির আহবায়ক ও নাটিয়ার পাড়া ইউপির সাবেক চেয়ারম্যান আব্দুল কাদের বলেন, জমি আমার, আমরা ভূমি উন্নয়ন কর দেই, সরকারের উচিৎ আমাদের ভূমি রক্ষা করা। অথচ সরকারের নদী আমার জমি ভেঙে নেয়, শাস্তি সরকারের হওয়া উচিৎ, শাস্তি হয় আমার কৃষকের। কৃষকের জমির ভর্তুকি দেওয়া দরকার কিন্তু কৃষকের জমি খাস হয়ে যায়, এ কেমন আইন।
সংগ্রাম কমিটির সমন্বয়ক জাহিদ হোসেন বলেন, আমার বাপ দাদার জমি সরকার অন্যায়ভাবে আইন করে খাস করে নেয়। এ আইন অবিলম্বে বাতিল করতে হবে।
এ সময় আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন, কবি আলতাফ হোসেন মাস্টার, বাংলাদেশ ক্ষেতমজুর সমিতির নেতা আলী আক্কাস, গাজী আব্দুর রহমান ও রফিকুল ইসলাম আমিন প্রমুখ।
