জামালপুর শহরের নয়াপাড়ায় পারিবারিক কলহের কারণে স্ত্রীকে শ্বাসরোধে হত্যা করেছে এক পাষন্ড স্বামী। এ ঘটনায় গৃহবধূ মোসলিমা আক্তার (৩০) এর মরদেহ উদ্ধার করেছে জামালপুর থানা পুলিশ।
স্থানীয় সূত্র জানায়, জামালপুর জেলার মেলান্দহ উপজেলার ঝাউগড়া গ্রামের আলম বাইদের পুত্র রাজমিস্ত্রি রুবেল মিয়া (৩৫) দেড় বছর আগে বিয়ে করে জামালপুর শহরের নয়াপাড়া নিবাসী মোকছেদ আলী শেখের কন্যা মোসলিমা আক্তারকে। বিয়ের পর শ্বশুর বাড়িতেই ঘরজামাই হিসেবে বাস করতে থাকে রুবেল। মোসলিমার ইতোপূর্বে আরো দুইবার বিয়ে হয়েছিল। আগের পক্ষের দুইটি সন্তানও আছে।
এদিকে পারিবারিক বিরোধের কারণে শুক্রবার ভোররাতে স্ত্রী মোসলিমাকে শ্বাসরোধে হত্যার পর মরদেহ ঘরের বিছানায় ফেলে রেখে পালিয়ে যায় পাষন্ড স্বামী রুবেল।
এ বিষয়ে জামালপুর সদর থানার ওসি রেজাউল ইসলাম খান জানান, খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ শুক্রবার দুপুরে গৃহবধুর মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে ময়না তদন্তের জন্য মর্গে পাঠিয়েছে।
এ ঘটনায় একটি হত্যা মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে বলে জানান ওসি রেজাউল ইসলাম খান।
