সিরাজগঞ্জের রায়গঞ্জের ৮নং পাঙ্গাসী ইউনিয়নের হাটপাঙ্গাসী বাজারের প্রধান সড়কে কোন ড্রেনেজ ব্যবস্থা না থাকায় একটু বৃষ্টিতেই সড়কটি সৃষ্টি হয় জলাবদ্ধতা। সড়কটির বিভিন্ন স্থানে হাটু পানিতে ডুবে যায়। ফলে বিভিন্ন যানবাহন ও সাধারন মানুষের চরমদূর্ভোগে পড়তে হয়। উপজেলার জনগুরুত্বপূর্ণ পুরাতন বগুড়া রোড নামে পরিচিত হাটপাঙ্গাসী সড়কটি উল্লেখযোগ্য।
এই সড়ক দিয়ে জেলা উপজেলার সর্বস্তরের মানুষ চলাচল করে থাকে। সেই সাথে সিরাজগঞ্জ টু বগুড়ায় যোগাযোগের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সড়কও এটি। এই সড়ক দিয়ে প্রতিদিন শত শত বাস, ট্রাক, সিএনজি এম্বুলেন্সসহ বিভিন্ন যানবাহন চলাচল করে থাকে। এই সড়কের দু-পাশে ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ, ভূমি অফিস, স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্র, বিভিন্ন সরকারি অফিস, ব্যাংকসহ বিভিন্ন মার্কেট ও বিপনীবিতান গড়ে উঠেছে। ফলে উপজেলাবাসীর কাছে এই সড়কটির গুরুত্ব অনেক বেশি। অথচ সামান্য বৃষ্টি হলেই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এই সড়কে সৃষ্টি হয় জলাবদ্ধতা। এ ব্যাপারে পাঙ্গাসী ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান আব্দুস সালাম সরকার জানান, উপজেলার বিভিন্ন সড়কগুলোর মধ্যে পুরাতন বগুড়া রোড হাটপাঙ্গাসী সড়কটিও গুরুত্বর দিকে কম নয়। তিনি আরও জানান, সড়কটি যদিও সড়ক ও জনপথ বিভাগের। তারপরেও বর্ষা মৌসুমে জনগণের দূর্ভোগ লাঘবে প্রাথমিক ভাবে সড়কের দু-পাশে ড্রেনের ব্যবস্থা করা যায় কিনা সে ব্যাপারে চেষ্টা করে যাচ্ছি।
