নওগাঁর ধামইরহাটে নদীতে মাছ ধরতে গিয়ে এক যুবক নিখোঁজ হয়েছেন।নিখোঁজ হওয়া যুবকের নাম মতিষ পাহান (৩৫)। সে উপজেলার ৮ নম্বর খেলনা ইউনিয়নের রসপুর গ্রামের মৃত শুকরা পাহান এর ছেলে।
এলাকাবাসী সূত্রে জানা গেছে, মতিষ পাহান গত রবিবার (১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকেলে পার্শ্ববর্তী আত্রাই নদীর পশ্চিম পাশে শিমুলতলী ব্রীজের আনুমানিক ৪শত ১০ গজ উত্তর দিকে বর্শি দিয়ে মাছ ধরা অবস্থায় নদীতে পড়ে যায়। অনেক খোঁজাখুঁজির পর তাকে পাওয়া না গেলে পত্নীতলা উপজেলা ফায়ার সার্ভিসকে খবর দেওয়া হয়।
ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে পুলিশের উপস্থিতিতে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ডুবুরি দলকে ওই নিখোঁজ ব্যক্তির উদ্ধার অভিযান পরিচালনা করতে দেখা যায়।
এবিষয়ে ধামইরহাট থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা আবদুল মমিন বলেন, ‘নিখোঁজ ব্যক্তিকে এখনো খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে সেখানে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ডুবুরি দলের উপস্থিতিতে নিখোঁজ ব্যক্তির উদ্ধার তৎপরতা এখনো চলমান রয়েছে।’
