নওগাঁর মহাদেবপুরে আত্রাই নদীতে গোসল করতে নেমে নিখোঁজ পারভেজ-মিনি দম্পতির লাশ পাওয়া গেছে। সোমবার সকাল সাড়ে ৯ টায় উপজেলার রামচন্দ্রপুর সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় সংলগ্ন এলাকায় আত্রাই নদী থেকে তাদের লাশ উদ্ধার করা হয়। নিহত পারভেজ হোসেন (২২) ও তার স্ত্রী মিনি আকতার সোমা (১৮) দিনাজপুর জেলার বীরগঞ্জ উপজেলা সদরের পুরাতন জেলখানা এলাকার বাসিন্দা।
মহাদেবপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ভারপ্রাপ্ত স্টেশন কর্মকর্তা আমিনুল ইসলাম এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন। খোঁজ নিয়ে জানা যায়, দুই মাস আগে পারভেজ-মিনি দম্পতির বিয়ে হয়েছে। গত শনিবার উপজেলার খাজুর ইউনিয়নের রামচন্দ্রপুর গ্রামে আত্মীয়ের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে আসেন। এরপর রোববার বেলা ১১টায় রামচন্দ্রপুর-পাটকাটি খেয়াঘাট এলাকায় নদীতে গোসল করতে নেমে নিখোঁজ হন তারা। স্থানীয়রা চেষ্টা করেও উদ্ধার করতে ব্যর্থ হন। বিকেল ৫টার দিকে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ডুবুরি দল উদ্ধারকাজ শুরু করেন। পরদিন সকাল সাড়ে ৯টায় নিখোঁজ হওয়ার স্থান থেকে প্রায় ৫০০ মিটার দূরে রামচন্দ্রপুর সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় সংলগ্ন আত্রাই নদী থেকে ওই দম্পতির লাশ উদ্ধার করে ডুবুরি দল।
মহাদেবপুর থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) আজম উদ্দিন মাহমুদ বলেন, আইনি প্রক্রিয়া শেষে স্বজনদের কাছে লাশ দুটি হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে।
