বৃহস্পতিবার (৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকালে গণভবনে অনুষ্ঠিত আওয়ামী লীগের কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির বৈঠকে একথা বলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি শেখ হাসিনা। এ সময় তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘সরকার ভূমিহীনদের জন্য দেড় লক্ষ ঘর তৈরি করেছে যার মাঝে ৩০০ ঘর কিছু দুষ্কৃতিকারীরা ভেঙ্গেছে। আর শুধু ৯টি ঘরে দুর্নীতির প্রমাণ পাওয়া গেছে। কিন্তু, পুরো ঘটনা বা সত্য না জেনেই যারা সংবাদ প্রচার করেছ গণমাধ্যম।’
আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি বলেন, ‘জীবনের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে মানুষের জন্য কাজ করেছে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাকর্মীরা। আর আওয়ামী ক্ষমতায় আছে বলেই দেশে উন্নতি হচ্ছে করোনা মোকাবিলা সম্ভব হয়েছে। এবারে করোনার সময় আমাদের দলের লোকেরা যেভাবে মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছে তা আর কোনো দল সেভাবে জনগণের পাশে দাঁড়ায়নি।’
প্রায় এক বছর পর আওয়ামী লীগের কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির এই বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এ বিষয়ে শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, ‘করোনার কারণে এই বৈঠকটি করা সম্ভব হয়নি। করোনা কিছুটা নিয়ন্ত্রণে এসেছে এবং টিকা চলছে তাই এই সভার আয়োজন করা হয়।’
সকাল ১০টায় শুরু হওয়া কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির বৈঠকে সারা দেশের সাংগঠনিক রিপোর্ট পেশ করা হয়। স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর ১০ সদস্য, যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক ৩ জন এবং ১২ জন সম্পাদকমণ্ডলীর সদস্য ও সব সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদকসহ মোট ৫০ জন আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
