করোনাভাইরাসে বিপর্যস্ত ভারতে ফের বেড়েছে মৃত্যু। তবে দেশটিতে দৈনিক সংক্রমণ কিছুটা কমেছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় দেশটিতে মৃত্যু হয়েছে ২৯০ জনের। এদিন আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন ৩১ হাজার ২২২ জন।
মঙ্গলবার ভারতের স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণায়ের বরাত দিয়ে এ তথ্য জানায় দেশটির গণমাধ্যম এনডিটিভি।
এর আগে সোমবার দেশটিতে মৃত্যু হয়েছিল ২১৯ জনের। সেদিন আক্রান্ত হয়েছিলেন ৩৮ হাজার ৯৪৮ জন।
এ নিয়ে দেশটিতে মৃত্যু হয়েছে চার লাখ ৪১ হাজার ৪২ জনের। করোনাক্রান্ত হয়েছেন তিন কোটি ৩০ লাখ ৫৮ হাজার ৮৪৩ জন।
গত মার্চের মাঝামাঝি ভারতে একদিনে শনাক্ত রোগীর সংখ্যা ছিল ২০ হাজারের কাছাকাছি। তার পর দেশটিতে সংক্রমণ বেড়েছে।
গত ৭ মে ভারতে একদিনে সর্বোচ্চ চার লাখ ১৪ হাজারের বেশি রোগী শনাক্তের তথ্য জানানো হয়। ভারত থেকে ছড়িয়ে পড়া করোনার অতিসংক্রামক ডেল্টা ধরনের পেছনে ভূমিকা রেখেছে।
চীনের উহান থেকে বিশ্বজুড়ে ছড়িয়ে যাওয়া করোনাভাইরাসে এ পর্যন্ত ২২ কোটি ১৯ লাখ ৯৭ হাজার মানুষ আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন। অন্যদিকে মৃত্যু হয়েছে ৪৫ লাখ ৮৯ হাজার ১১৯ জনের।
