বরিশাল সিটি মেয়র ও মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সেরনিয়াবাত সাদিক আব্দুল্লাহর উপর বর্বরোচিত হামলা ও মেয়র সাদিক আব্দুল্লাহ সহ অন্যান্য নেতা-কর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্রমূলক মামলা,আনসার ও পুলিশের হামলা এবং আওয়ামী লীগ এবং অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীদের গ্রেফতারের প্রতিবাদে বানারীপাড়ায় প্রতিবাদ সমাবেশ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। উপজেলা ও পৌর আওয়ামী লীগ এবং অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের উদ্যোগে এ প্রতিবাদ সমাবেশ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। শুক্রবার সকাল ১০টায় দলীয় কার্যালয়ে উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি গোলাম সালেহ মঞ্জু মোল্লার সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত এ প্রতিবাদ সমাবেশে অন্যন্যের মধ্যে বক্তৃতা করেন বরিশাল জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের আইন বিষয়ক সম্পাদক ও বানারীপাড়া পৌরসভার মেয়র অ্যডভোকেট সুভাষ চন্দ্র শীল,উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক অ্যাডভোকেট মাওলাদ হোসেন সানা,সহ-সভাপতি ও সাবেক ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান মজিবুর রহমান, পৌর আওয়ামীলীগের সভাপতি সুব্রত লাল কুন্ডু, উপজেলা ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান মোঃ নুরুল হুদা, উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের যুগ্ম সম্পাদক ও সদর ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান আ.জলিল ঘরামী,পৌর আওয়ামীলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক শেখ শহিদুল ইসলাম, উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক যুগ্ম আহবায়ক মু.মুন্তাকিম লস্কর কায়েস,পৌর ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি রুহুল আমিন রাসেল মাল প্রমুখ। সমাবেশে ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান মাস্টার সিদ্দিকুর রহমান, উপজেলা যুবলীগের সাবেক আহবায়ক অধ্যাপক জাকির হোসেন,প্রেসক্লাব সহ- সভাপতি কে এম শফিকুল আলম জুয়েল, সম্পাদক সুজন মোল্লা , উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক যুগ্ম আহবায়ক সুমম রায় সুমন, যুবলীগ নেতা মশিউর রহমান সুমন,উপজেলা বঙ্গবন্ধু সাংস্কৃতিক জোটের সম্পাদক জোবায়ের আহম্মেদ রুথেন ও পৌর ছাত্রলীগের সম্পাদক সজল চৌধুরী সহ আওয়ামী লীগ এবং অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের বিভিন্ন নেতা-কর্মীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এসময় বক্তারা বরিশাল সিটি মেয়র ও মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সেরনিয়াবাত সাদিক আব্দুল্লাহকে লক্ষ্য করে ইউএনও’র নির্দেশে গুলি বর্ষণ ও মেয়রসহ নেতা-কর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্রমূলক মামলা এবং গ্রেফতারের তীব্র নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানান। এসময় বক্তারা দ্রুত মামলা প্রত্যাহার ও গ্রেফতারকৃত নেতা-কর্মীদের নিঃশর্ত মুক্তিসহ এ ঘটনার বিচার বিভাগীয় তদন্তের দাবি জানিয়েছেন
