জামালপুরের সরিষাবাড়ীতে বাস ও মোটরসাইকেলের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে দুই যুবকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (২৫ জুন) বিকেলে সরিষাবাড়ী পৌরসভার বাউসি স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের সামনে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। নিহতরা হলেন সরিষাবাড়ী উপজেলার কামরাবাদ ইউনিয়নের ডিগ্রি পাঁচবাড়ি গ্রামের শহিদ মিয়ার ছেলে কবির হোসেন (২০) ও টাঙ্গাইলের মধুপুর উপজেলার টেংরা গ্রামের আব্দুস সাত্তারের ছেলে সেলিম মিয়া (১৯) বলে জানা যায়।
পুলিশ ও স্থানীয় সূত্র জানা যায়, শুক্রবার বিকেল সাড়ে ৫টার দিকে দিগপাইত উপশহর থেকে আল্লাহর দান (ঢাকা-সরিষাবাড়ী) পরিবহনের একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস (ঢাকা মেট্রো ব-১৫-৩৩২৪) সরিষাবাড়ী বাস টার্মিনালের উদ্দেশ্যে আসছিল এসময় বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসা দিগপাইতগামী একটি মোটরসাইকেলের সাথে বাসটির মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। এতে মোটরসাইকেলে থাকা কবির ও সেলিম ঘটনাস্থলেই মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ও ফায়ার সার্ভিস কর্মীরা তাদের লাশ উদ্ধার করে।
এ ব্যাপারে সরিষাবাড়ী থানার এ এস আই শাহাদাত মুঠোফোনে বলেন,অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে।মামলা রুজু করা হবে। বাস ড্রাইভারকে গ্রেফতারের প্রক্রিয়া চলছে।লাশ হাসপাতাল থেকে আনা হবে।
