আজ শুক্রবার বেলা ১২ টার দিকে উপজেলার নৌবাড়িয়া গ্রামে এঘটনাটি ঘটে। সে উপজেলার অষ্টমনিষা ইউনিয়নের বড় বিশাকোল গ্রামের চা বিক্রেতা বাবলু মোল্লার সন্তান।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও থানা পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, আজ বেলা ১২টার দিকে উপজেলার নৌবাড়িয়া ভ্যানস্ট্যান্ডে অটোভ্যানের নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে রাস্তার ধারের গাছের সাথে সজোরে ধাক্কা খায় চালক মাসুম। মুহুর্তের মধ্যেই গাড়িসহ ছিটকে পাশের ডোবার পানিতে পড়ে যায় শিশু ভ্যান চালক মাছুম হোসেন মোল্লা। ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত লোকজন তৎক্ষনিক তাঁকে উদ্ধার করে উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক তাঁকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন।
ভাঙ্গুড়া থানা অফিসার ইনচার্জ ফয়সাল বিন আহসান বলেন, ভ্যান চালাতে গিয়ে গাছের সাথে ধাক্কা খেয়ে পানিতে পড়ে ওই শিশুটি মারা গেছে। এব্যাপারে তাঁর পরিবারের কোন অভিযোগ না থাকায় আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া সম্ভব হয়নি।
