হবিগঞ্জের শায়েস্তাগঞ্জে গাড়ির ধাক্কায় অজ্ঞাত এক বৃদ্ধা নিহত হয়েছেন।
বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে ঢাকা-সিলেট মহাসড়কের উপজেলার সুতাং ব্রিজের পাশে একটি গাড়ি ওই বৃদ্ধাকে ধাক্কা দেয়।
এতে তিনি গুরুতর আহত হয়ে মহাসড়কের পাশেই পড়ে থাকেন। স্থানীয় লোকজন হাইওয়ে পুলিশকে খবর দিলে মুমূর্ষু অবস্থায় তাকে উদ্ধার করে হবিগঞ্জ আড়াইশ শয্যা হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। সেখানে চিকিৎসাধীন ওই বৃদ্ধা রাত ১২টার দিকে মারা যান।
শায়েস্তাগঞ্জ হাইওয়ে থানার ওসি মো. মইনুল ইসলাম বিষয়টির সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, দুপুরে গাড়ির ধাক্কায় বৃদ্ধ নারী গুরুতর আহত হন। পুলিশ তাকে উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করে। তবে রাতে চিকিৎসাধীন তিনি মারা যান। এখনও তার পরিচয় নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি।
