হবিগঞ্জের লাখাই উপজেলার ২ নং মুড়াকরি ইউনিয়নের ফুলবাড়িয়া গ্রামে উপজেলা প্রশাসনের নেতৃত্বে সোমবার ২০ সেক্টেন্বর সকালে এক মোবাইল কোর্ট পরিচালনার মাধ্যমে ঐ গ্রামের মোঃ আঃ হকের মেয়ে ১৬ বছরের কিশোরী স্কুলপড়ুয়া ছাত্রী মোছাঃ জুতিয়া খাতুন, এর বাল্যবিবাহ বন্ধ করা হয়েছে। এ সময় ঘটনাস্থলে কিশোরীর পিতাকে পাওয়া যায়নি, পিতাকে না পাওয়ায় মেয়ের মা-কে বাল্যবিবাহ নিরোধ আইন, ২০১৭ এর অধীন ৪০০০ টাকা অর্থদন্ডে দন্ডিত করা হয়েছে এবং ঐ কিশোরীর বয়স ১৮ বছর অর্থাৎ প্রাপ্ত বয়ষ্ক না হওয়া পর্যন্ত বিয়ে দেয়া হবে না মর্মে নির্ধারিত ফরমে মুচলেকা দেয় মেয়ে মা মোছাঃ অনুফা বেগম।
মোবাইল কোর্ট পরিচালনাকারী লাখাই উপজেলার সহকারী কমিশনার ভূমি ও বিজ্ঞ এক্সিকিউটিভ ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মোঃ রুহুল আমিন জানান ঐ কিশোরীর নামে ইউপি সচিব ও চেয়ারম্যান কর্তৃক তাদের যৌথ স্বাক্ষরে যে জন্ম সনদ ইস্যু করা হয়েছে তার সাথে স্কুলে সংরক্ষিত রেজিস্ট্রার এ নিবন্ধিত জন্ম তারিখ এর মিল পাওয়া যায়নি। কোন তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে জন্ম সনদ প্রদান করা হয়েছে সে বিষয়ে স্থানীয় চেয়ারম্যানকে যথাযথ কর্তৃপক্ষের মাধ্যমে অবহিত করার জন্য বলা হয়েছে। তিনি আরো জানান ইস্যুকৃত জন্ম সনদ জালিয়াতির আশ্রয় নিয়ে করা হয়েছে মর্মে প্রাথমিকভাবে প্রতীয়মান হয়।
