ময়মনসিংহের গফরগাঁওয়ে একাধিক হত্যা ও ডাকাতি মামলার আসামী দুই আসামী দীর্ঘ প্রায় ১০ বছর ধরে ছিলেন পলাতক। কিন্তু তাতেও নিজেদের শেষ রক্ষা করতে পারেনি। অবশেষে ময়মনসিংহের গফরগাঁও উপজেলার পাগলা থানার ওসি রাশেদুজ্জামানের চেষ্টায় গ্রেফতার হয় তারাপুলিশ জানায়, আত্মগোপনে থাকা আসামীদের ধরতে রোববার রাতে পাগলা থানা পুলিশের একটি বিশেষ দল গাজীপুরের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালায়। পরে সোমবার ভোর রাতে ২০১১ সালের একাধিক হত্যা মামলার আসামী গফরগাঁওয়ের পাগলা থানাধীন বেলদিয়া গ্রামের ফিরোজ ঢালী (৪২), একই গ্রামের ডাকাতি মামলার অন্যতম আসামী ফজলু ঢালী (৪৫), ও মারামারি মামলার আসামী পাল্টিপাড়া গ্রামের সোহাগ মিয়াকে (৪৩) গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ।
পাগলা থানার ওসি রাশেদুজ্জামান বলেন, এটি পুলিশের একটি সফল অভিযান। গ্রেফতার হওয়া ফিরোজ ২০১১ সালের ২টি হত্যা মামলার আসামী ও ফজলু ডাকাতি মামলার পলাতক আসামী। দীর্ঘ প্রায় ১০ বছর পলাতক থাকার পর এদের গ্রেফতার করে থানায় নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। আজ সোমবার দুপুরে আটক কৃতদেরকে আদালতে পাঠানো হবে। বিষয়টি এলাকায় ব্যাপক চাঞ্চল্যের সৃষ্টি করেছে।
