আফগানিস্তানের হেরাত প্রদেশে সরকারি ও বেসরকারি স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েরা একসঙ্গে লেখাপড়া করতে পারবেন না বলে নতুন নির্দেশনা জারি করেছে সদ্য ক্ষমতা দখল করা তালেবান।
শনিবার আফগান সংবাদ সংস্থা খামা নিউজের বরাত দিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক গণমাধ্যম এতথ্য জানিয়েছে।
এ বিষয়ে তালেবান নেতা মোল্লা ফরিদ বলছেন, সমাজে পচন ধরার মূলেই রয়েছে ছেলে-মেয়েদের একসঙ্গে শিক্ষা। তাই ছেলে-মেয়েদের একসঙ্গে পড়াশোনা বন্ধ করতে হবে। নারী অধ্যাপকেরা শুধু মেয়েদেরই পড়াতে পারবেন।
এর আগে ১৯৯৬-২০০১ সালের শাসনামলে তালেবান নারীদের স্কুল ও কর্মক্ষেত্রে যাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করেছিল। পুরুষ আত্মীয় ছাড়া নারীদের বাইরে যাওয়া নিষিদ্ধ ছিল। এমনকি বাইরে বের হওয়ার সময় নারীদের চেহারা দেখানো পুরোপুরি নিষিদ্ধ ছিল।
