নাইজেরিয়ায় গরু চুরি করতে গিয়ে সাতটি গ্রামে হামলা চালিয়ে ৬৬ জনকে হত্যা করেছে একটি চক্র। দেশটির উত্তর পশ্চিমাঞ্চলীয় কিববেই প্রদেশে বৃহস্পতিবার এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
কিববেই পুলিশের মুখপাত্র নাফিউ আবুবকর বলেন, হামলাকারীরা মোটরসাইকেলে এসে ডানকো জেলার পার্শ্ববর্তী সাতটি গ্রামে আক্রমণ চালায়। খবর এএফপির
আবুবকর বলেন, হামলায় ৬৬ জনের নিহত হওয়ার ব্যাপারে আমরা নিশ্চিত হয়েছি। হামলাকারীরা কোরো, কিমপি, গায়া, ডিমি, জুতু, রাফিন গোরা এবং ইগুয়েঙ্গে গ্রামে এই হামলা চালায়।
তিনি বলেন, হামলায় ক্ষতির পরিমাণ নিশ্চিত করতে তদন্ত চলমান রয়েছে, আরো মরদেহের অনুসন্ধান চলছে।
তিনি জানান, ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এলাকাবাসীরা তাদের বাড়ি ছেড়ে পালিয়েছে। এসব এলাকায় পুলিশ মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে।
