আগামী অর্থবছরের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেটে পুঁজিবাজারে তালিকাভুক্ত কোম্পানির করপোরেট কর ২৫ শতাংশ থেকে কমিয়ে ২২.৫ শতাংশ করার প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি তালিকাভুক্তির বাইরের প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর কর কমিয়ে ৩০ শতাংশ হারে। করপোরেট কর কমানোর কারণে তালিকাভুক্ত কোম্পানিগুলোর লভ্যাংশ দেয়ার সক্ষমতা বাড়বে। কারণ, তাদেরকে আগের চেয়ে আড়াই শতাংশ হারে কম কর দিতে হবে। এর ফলে কর পরবর্তী মুনাফা বাড়বে।
অবশ্য ব্যাংক ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান এই সুবিধা পাবে না। কারণ, তাদের করের বিষয়ে কিছু কলা হয়নি। এই প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে কর দিতে হয় ৪০ শতাংশ করে।
২০২১-২২ অর্থবছরের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেট বক্তব্যে অর্থমন্ত্রী আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল বলেন, ‘সরকার পুঁজিবাজার গতিশীল ও উজ্জীবিত করার লক্ষ্যে নানাবিধ সংস্কারমূলক পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ ও বাস্তবায়ন করছে। স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জকে লাভজনক প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিণত করার উদ্দেশ্যে ও যুগের সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে আরও কিছু পদক্ষেপ শিগগিরই বাস্তবায়ন করা হবে।’
