‘সিলেট-৩ আসনে দল থেকে যারা মনোনয়ন প্রত্যাশী ছিলেন, তাদের সবাই গ্রহণীয় এবং বরণীয়। মেধা, যোগ্যতা এবং আপন রাজনৈতিক প্রজ্ঞায় তাদের সকলেরই নিজস্ব একটি অবস্থান রয়েছে। আমি আগামীর সকল কার্যক্রমে তাদের পরামর্শ, আন্তরিকতা এবং সহযোগীতা নিয়েই এগিয়ে যেতে চাই। আমার এই চাওয়া শুধু নির্বাচনকালীন প্রয়োজনে নয়, আমার আগামী সকল রাজনৈতিক কর্মযজ্ঞে, তারাই হবেন আমার মূল চালিকাশক্তি।’
বুধবার (১৬ জুন)সিলেট-৩ আসনে আওয়ামী লীগ মনোনীত প্রার্থী হাবিবুর রহমান সাংবাদিকদের সাথে মতবিনিময় কালে একথা বলেন।
তিনি বলেন, দলীয় মনোনয়ন প্রাপ্তির পর প্রয়াত সাংসদ মাহমুদ উস সামাদ চৌধুরীর সহধর্মীনির সাথে সাক্ষাত করেছি। দো’আ চেয়েছি চৌধুরী পরিবারের। সিলেট-৩ আসনে অব্যাহত উন্নয়ন যাত্রা ধরে রাখার স্বার্থে তাদের পরিবার আমার সাথে থাকবে বলে আশ্বস্থ করেছেন। একই সাথে দলের সাবেক কেন্দ্রীয় সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক এডভোকেট মিসবাহ উদ্দিন সিরাজ, বিএম এর মহাসচিব ডা.এহতেশামুল হক দুলালসহ যারা সিলেট-৩ আসনে মনোনয়ন প্রত্যাশী ছিলেন, তাদের সবাই আমার সাথে রয়েছেন, সাহস যুগিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেন, আওয়ামী লীগের রাজনীতি গ্রুপ নির্ভর নয়। সুতরাং উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে দলের টানে সবাই আজ এক মোহনায় মিলিত হয়েছেন। সুতরাং সিলেট-৩ আসনে নৌকার বিজয় ছাড়া অন্য কিছু ভাবতে চায় না আওয়ামী লীগ।
বুুধবার নগরীর একটি অভিজাত হোটেলে সিলেটে কর্মরত প্রিন্ট ও ইলেকট্রনিকস মিডিয়ায় কর্মরত সাংবাদিকদের নিয়ে আয়োজিত মতবিনিময় সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন সিলেট জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান ও সিলেট জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি প্রবীণ রাজনীতিবিদ এডভোকেট লুৎফুর রহমান ও পরিচালনা করেন জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এডভোকেট নাসির উদ্দিন খানের পরিচালনায় মতবিনিময় সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন
মতবিনিময় সভার শুরুতেই তিনি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নাম শ্রদ্ধার সাথে স্মরণ করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। একই সাথে দলীয় মনোনয়ন প্রাপ্তির পূর্ব থেকে মনোনয়ন জমাদান পর্যন্ত দলের সকল স্তরের নেতাকর্মীদের প্রতি গভির কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন হাবিব।
তিনি বলেন, দক্ষিণ সুরমা, ফেঞ্চুগঞ্জ ও বালাগঞ্জ নিয়ে সিলেট-৩ আসনের নির্বাচনি সীমানা। এই আসনে টানা তিনবারের নির্বাচিত সংসদ সদস্য ছিলেন জননেতা মাহমুদ উস সামাদ চৌধুরী কয়েস। গত ১১ মার্চ ঢাকার ইউনাইটেড হাসপাতালে তিনি চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। প্রয়াত সাংসদের বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফেরাত কামনা করে হাবিব বলেন, গেল দুটি নির্বাচনেও সিলেট-৩ আসন থেকে দলীয় মনোনয়ন চেয়েছিলাম। দলীয় মনোনয়ন না পেলেও দলীয় প্রার্থীর পক্ষে কাজ করেছি। এই আসনের মাটি ও মানুষের সাথে জন্মঋন রয়েছে জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন, সম্পর্ক এবং ভালোবাসার তাগিদ এই দুইয়ের সমন্বয় সাধন করতেই প্রচেষ্টা চালাতে চাই।
তিনি বলেন, এই আসনে উপজেলা রয়েছে মোট তিনটি। সকলের দো’আ ও অকুষ্ঠ সমর্থন নিয়ে নির্বাচিত হলে সুষম বণ্ঠনের ভিত্তিতে উন্নয়ন সাধন করা হবে। উন্নয়ন নীতিতে প্রতিটি উপজেলা হবে অভিন্ন। এই বিশ্বাস মনে প্রাণে ধারণ করেই চলবে আগামীর সকল কার্যক্রম।
মত বিনিময় সভায় তিনি বলেন, আওয়ামী রাজনীতির কল্যাণধারায় তাড়িত হয়ে বারবার ফিরে আসি মাটির টানে। কিন্তু কাজ না করে বুলি আওড়ানো আওয়ামী রাজনীতির বৈশিষ্ট নয়। তিনি শিল্পাঞ্চল খ্যাত এই আসনটি ফের প্রধানমন্ত্রী, দলীয় সভানেত্রি জননেত্রি শেখ হাসিনাকে উপহার দিতে দলীয় নেতাকর্মীদের সহযোগীতা কামনা করেন।
মতবিনিময় সভায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য জেবুন্নেছা হক, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সহসভাপতি এড. নিজাম উদ্দিন, যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক কবির উদ্দিন আহমদ, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক এড. রঞ্জিত সরকার, আইন বিষয়ক সম্পাদক এড.আজমল আলী, কৃষি বিষয়ক সম্পাদক হাজি ফারুক আহমদ, ধর্ম বিষয়ক সম্পাদক হাজি রইছ আলী, বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ক সম্পাদক এড.ছালেহ আহমদ হীরা, উপ-প্রচার সম্পাদক মতিউর রহমান মতি, কোষাধ্যক্ষ শমসের জামাল, সদস্য এড, বদরুল ইসলাম জাহাঙ্গীর,শহিদুর রহমান শাহিন, মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সদস্য তাহমিন আহমদ, বালাগঞ্জ উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি মোস্তাকুর রহমান মফুর, সাধারণ সম্পাদক আনহার মিয়া, দক্ষিণ সুরমা উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সাইফুল আলম, সাধারণ সম্পাদক এড শামীম আহমদ, ফেঞ্চুগঞ্জ উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি শওকত আলী ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুল বাসিত টুটুল প্রমুখ।
