টাঙ্গাইলের সখীপুরে বাড়ির পাশে জমে থাকা পানিতে ডুবে আবদুল্লাহ খান নামের (৪) শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে।
শনিবার (৫জুন) সকালে উপজেলার কালিয়ান খানপাড়া এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। সে ওই এলাকার প্রবাসী সজীব খানের ছেলে।
স্থানীয়রা জানায়, বাড়ির পাশে সড়কঘেঁষে গর্তে বৃষ্টির পানি জমে থাকায় । শনিবার সকালে কোচিং সেন্টারে যাওয়ার সময় শিশুটি অগোচরে গর্তে পড়ে যায়। প্রায় দুই ঘণ্টা পর আবদুল্লাহ খানের দেহ পানিতে দেখে স্থানীয়রা উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নিয়ে আসে।
সখীপুর উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সের আবাসিক মেডিকেল অফিসার মো. মাসুদ খান বলেন, স্বজনরা সকাল ১০টার দিকে জরুরি বিভাগে শিশুটিকে নিয়ে আসেন। তবে শিশুটি হাসপাতালে আসার আগেই মারা গেছে।
