বাগেরহাট প্রতিনিধিঃ বঙ্গোপসাগরে ঘূর্ণিঝড় ইয়াসের প্রভাবে জোয়ারের পানিতে উপক‚লীয় জেলা
বাগেরহাটের নদীতীরবর্তী তিন শতাধিক বাড়িঘরে পানি ঢুকেছে।বুধবার বেলা ১১টার দিকে হঠাৎ করে পানি ঢুকে পড়ে বলে বাগেরহাট পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের প্রধান নির্বাহী প্রকৌশলী বিশ্বজিৎ বৈদ্য জানান।
তিনি বলেন, কোথাও বেড়িবাঁধ ভাঙেনি। সুন্দরবন সংলগ্ন শরণখোলা উপজেলার বলেশ্বর নদের তীর সংলগ্ন বেড়িবাঁধের বাইরে বগী, তেড়াবেকা, খুড়িয়াখালী, সোনাতলা গ্রাম ও মোরেলগঞ্জ উপজেলার দোনা, শ্রেণিখালি, নিশানবাড়িয়া ও ছোলমবাড়িয়া গ্রামের তিন শতাধিক বাড়িতে পানি ঢুকেছে। ভাটার সময় এই
পানি নেমে যাওয়ার কথা। তাছাড়া বাঁধ উপচে ও সøুইচ গেটে দিয়ে জোয়ারের পানি ঢুকে সদর উপজেলায়
কিছু মাছের ঘের তালিয়ে গেছে বলে খবর পাওযা গেছে। জেলা মৎস্য কর্মকর্তা এএসএম রাসেল বলেন, “বাগেরহাটের প্রধান নদ-নদীতে জোয়ারের পানি বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় মোংলা, রামপাল, শরণখোলা, মোরেলগঞ্জ ও সদর উপজেলা কিছু এলাকায় বাঁধ উপচে ও সøুইচ গেট দিয়ে ভেতরে পানি ঢুকেছে বলে খবর
পাচ্ছি। “সদর উপজেলার মাঝিডাঙা এলাকায় সøুইচ গেট দিয়ে পানি ঢুকে কিছু মাছের ঘের তলিয়ে গেছে।”মাছের ঘেরের ক্ষতির তথ্য সংগ্রহ করতে মৎস্য কর্মকর্তারা মাঠে নেমেছেন বলে
তিনি জানান।বাগেরহাটের ডিসি মোহাম্মদ আজিজুর রহমান বলেন, ইয়াসের প্রভাবে বাগেরহাটের নদ-নদীতে পানির উচ্চতা স্বাভাবিকের চেয়ে বেড়েছে। বুধবারের জোয়ারের পানি ঢুকে বেশ কিছু নিচু এলাকার বাড়িঘর পানি ঢুকেছে। স্থানীয় প্রশাসন জোয়ারের পানিতে সাধারণ মানুষের কী পরিমাণ ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে তার খোঁজখবর নিতে শুরু করেছে।
