মল্লিক জামান,রামপাল (বাগেরহাট) প্রতিনিধঃ বাগেরহাটের রামপালে থানা পুলিশের বিশেষ অভিযানে মনিরুল ইসলাম (৩২) নামে এক গাঁজা ব্যবসায়ীকে আটক করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার উপজেলার চেয়ারম্যানের মোড় এলাকা থেকে তাকে আটক করা হয়। সে উপজেলার উজলকুড় ইউনিয়নের পার-গোবিন্দপুর গ্রামের মোঃ মোশারেফ শেখএর পুত্র।
রামপাল থানা সূত্রে জানা গেছে যে, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে রামপাল থানা পুলিশের একটি দল আগে থেকেই চেয়ারম্যানের মোড় এলাকায় অবস্থান নেয়। মনিরুল সেখানে পৌছালে থানা পুলিশের একটি দল তাকে চ্যালেন্জ করে এবং তার কাছে থেকে ৫০ গ্রাম গাঁজা উদ্ধার করে। রামপাল থানায় মামলা শেষে তাকে মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে বাগেরহাট জেলা কারাগারে প্রেরন করা হয়েছে। রামপাল থানার ওসি মোঃ সামসুদ্দিন এ প্রতিবেদককে গাঁজা উদ্ধারের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি আরো জানান যে, মাদক নির্মূলে তিনি আন্তরিক ভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন এবং রামপাল থানায় যোগদানের পর থেকে অসংখ্য মাদক সেবী ও ব্যবসায়ীকে ইতোমধ্যে তিনি আটক করেছেন। মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে তার এ অভিযান অব্যাহত থাকবে বলে তিনি সাংবাদিকদের জানিয়েছেন।
