মিরসরাইয়ে যাত্রীবেশে উঠে চালকের গলা কেটে মোটরসাইকেল ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে করেরহাট-রামগড় সড়কের নয়টিলা মাজার সংলগ্ন এলাকায় এই ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটে। মোটরসাইকেল চালকের নাম আবদুল বারেক (২৩)। সে ফটিকছড়ি উপজেলার দাঁতমারা ইউনিয়নের বাসিন্দা।
জানা গেছে, বারেক মোটরসাইকেল ভাড়ায় চালাতো। হেঁয়াকো থেকে দুই ছিনতাইকারী যাত্রীবেশে বারইয়ারহাট যাবে বলে তার মোটরসাইকেলে উঠে। পথে নয়টিলা মাজার এলাকায় সশস্ত্র ছিনতাইকারী চক্রের সদস্যরা বারেককে অবরুদ্ধ করে মোটরসাইকেল নিয়ে যেতে চায়। এসময় বারেক বাঁধা দিলে তাঁর গলায় ছুরিকাঘাত করে রাস্তার পাশে ফেলে রেখে মোটরসাইকেলটি নিয়ে পালিয়ে যায়। পরে পথচারীরা বারেককে আশষ্কাজনক অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করেন। বর্তমানে সে চট্টগ্রাম মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে (চমেক) চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছেন।
জোরারগঞ্জ থানার ওসি (তদন্ত) হেলাল উদ্দিন ফারুকী বলেন, ঘটনার পর খবর পেয়ে আমরা ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছি। আমরা পৌঁছানোর আগে আহত ব্যক্তিকে স্থানীয়রা উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে প্রেরণ করেন। আহত বারেক এখন চমেকে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছে, সে আশঙ্কামুক্ত। ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনার সাথে জড়িতদের শনাক্তের চেষ্টা চলছে।
