বরিশাল সিটি করপোরেশনের ২১নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর ও বরিশাল মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক শেখ সাইয়েদ আহম্মেদ মান্নাকে ডিবি পরিচয়ে সাদা পোশাকধারীরা নিয়ে গেছে বলে অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। বরিশালে পুলিশ ও আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাকর্মীদের সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় পুলিশের দায়ের করা মামলার ২নং আসামি তিনি।
শুক্রবার রাত ৯টা ৪৫ মিনিটে রাজধানীর মোহাম্মদপুরে শিয়া মসজিদ এলাকার বোনের বাসা থেকে তুলে মান্নাকে নিয়ে গেছে। মান্নার বোন আসমা আক্তার এ বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
উল্লেখ্য, বরিশালে পুলিশ ও আনসার সদস্যদের সঙ্গে আওয়ামী লীগ, ছাত্রলীগ ও যুবলীগের নেতাকর্মীদের সংঘর্ষে পাঁচজন গুলিবিদ্ধসহ অন্তত ৩০ জন আহত হয়েছেন। বুধবার রাতে সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) মুনিবুর রহমানের সরকারি বাসভবনে হামলাকে কেন্দ্র করে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
এ সময় ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত সিটি মেয়র সেরনিয়াবাত সাদিক আব্দুল্লাহও আঘাতপ্রাপ্ত হন বলে তিনি দাবি করেছেন। আহতদের মধ্যে ৩ পুলিশ ও ২ আনসার সদস্য রয়েছেন।
ঘটনার প্রতিবাদে রাতেই নেতাকর্মীরা নগরীর রূপাতলী ও নথুল্লাবাদ টার্মিনাল এলাকায় ঢাকা-বরিশাল মহাসড়ক অবরোধ করে। একইসঙ্গে বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল থেকে বন্ধ করে দেয় অভ্যন্তরীণ ও দূরপাল্লা রুটের লঞ্চ চলাচল। পরে প্রশাসনের সঙ্গে সমঝোতা বৈঠক শেষে দুপুর ১২টার পর বাস-লঞ্চ চলাচল স্বাভাবিক হয়।
এদিকে ইউএনওর বাসভবনে হামলার ঘটনায় আওয়ামী লীগ, ছাত্রলীগ ও যুবলীগের কয়েকশ নেতাকর্মীর বিরুদ্ধে দুটি মামলা হয়েছে। উভয় মামলায় বরিশাল সিটি করপোরেশনের মেয়র ও মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সাদিক আব্দুল্লাহকে প্রধান আসামি করা হয়েছে। পুলিশের দায়ের করা মামলায় শেখ সাইয়েদ আহম্মেদ মান্না ২নং আসামি।
