রংপুরের মিঠাপুকুর উপজেলায় দুই বাসের সংঘর্ষে এক শিশুসহ পাঁচজন নিহত হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছে আরও অন্তত ৩০ জন।
রোববার সকাল পৌনে ৮টার দিকে উপজেলার বলদিপুকুর এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে বলে মিঠাপুর থানার ওসি (তদন্ত) জাকির হোসেন জানান।
হতাহতদের নাম-পরিচয় তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে জানা যায়নি।
ওসি সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, ঢাকা থেকে রংপুরমুখী জোয়ানা পরিবহনের একটি বাসের সঙ্গে রংপুর থেকে ঢাকামুখী সেলফি পরিবহনের আরেকটি বাসের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। এতে ঘটনাস্থলেই এক শিশুসহ পাঁচজনের মৃত্যু হয়।
আহতদের মধ্যে ২৫ জনকে রংপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে এক নারীসহ তিনজনের শারীরিক অবস্থা গুরুতর বলে জানান তিনি।
