বিষয়টি নজরে এলে সিসিকের জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা আব্দুল আলিম শাহ ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনে জালালাবাদ থানায় আতিকের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করেন।
সিসিকের জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা আব্দুল আলিম শাহ জানান, আসামী সিসিক মেয়র এবং ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটকে নিয়ে ফেইসবুকে অশালীনভাবে গালিগালাজ করায় তার বিরুদ্ধে এই মামলা করা হয়েছে।
মদিনা মার্কেটের ব্যবসায়ীরা জানান, আতিকুর রহমান আতিক বাজারের সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক হওয়ার পর থেকে ফুটপাতে যেসব দোকান বসে সেগুলো থেকে নিয়মিত চাঁদা আদায় করেন। ফুটপাতের অবৈধ দোকান সকালে উচ্ছেদ অভিযান হলে বিকেলে আতিক এসব দোকান আবার বসিয়ে চাঁদা আদায় করেন। বাজার কমিটির মেয়াদ শেষ হয়েছে অনেক আগে। কিন্তু বিভিন্ন লোভে নির্বাচন না দিয়ে বর্তমান মেয়াদ উত্তীর্ণ কমিটি ক্ষমতায় রয়েছে।
জালালাবাদ থানার ওসি নাজমুল হুদা খান বলেন, ২০১৮ সালের ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনের মামলায় আতিকুর রহমান আতিককে গ্রেফতার করে আদালতে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
