মোঃ শহিদুল ইসলাম, কোটচাঁদপুর প্রতিনিধি: ঝিনাইদহের কোটচাঁদপুর উপজেলা থেকে বিলুপ্ত হতে চলেছে বাবুই পাখির শৈল্পিক কুঁড়ে ঘর। একসময় কোটচাঁদপুর উপজেলার বিভিন্ন স্থানে প্রচুর পরিমাণ বাবুই পাখির বাসা লক্ষ্য করা যেত । কিন্তু কালের পরিক্রমায় সেসব বাসা যেন হারিয়ে যেতে বসেছে।
কালের পরিক্রমায় প্রকৃতির বিপর্যয়ের কারণে বাবুই পাখিকে তালগাছ, সুপারীগাছে আর বাসা বাঁধেনা। দেখা মেলেনা বাবুই পাখির। বাবুই চড়ুই সদৃশ্য পাখি। কথিত আছে বাবুই পাখি রাতের বেলা জোনাকী পাখি ধরে নিয়ে বাসায় রাখেন ঘর আলোকিত করার জন্য আর সকাল হলে ছেড়ে দেয়।জানা যায, প্রায় ১০/১৫ বছর আগেও গ্রাম বাংলার প্রতিটি প্রান্তরে তালগাছ, নারিকেল গাছ, সুপারীগাছে বাবুই পাখির বাসা দেখা যেত। শৈল্পিকতায় সমৃদ্ধ বাসা মানুষের মাঝে যেমন মুগ্ধতা ছড়াতো তেমনি মাথায় চিন্তা ও গবেষণারও জন্ম দিত। দৃষ্টিনন্দন এবং মজবুত বাবুই পাখির বাসা প্রচন্ড ঝড়েও ছিড়ে পড়তোনা। এপাখি স্থপতি, সামাজিক বন্ধনেরও প্রতিচ্ছবি। এরা দল বেঁধে বসবাস করে। এক বাসা থেকে আরেক বাসায় যায় স্ত্রী পাখি খুঁজে বেড়ায়। এরা খাল, বিল ডোবায় গোসল করে। বাবুই পাখিরা কিচিমিচর শব্দে ডাকাডাকি করে। স্ত্রী পাখিদের প্রেরণায় সুন্দর নান্দনিক বাসা তৈরী করে। কিন্তু এখন শৈল্পিক পাখিকে দেখা না যাওয়ায় এ প্রজন্মের সন্তানরা ভুলে যেতে বসেছে বাবুই পাখিকে।
