ঝিনাইদহের কোটচাঁদপুর উপজেলায় সাপের কামড়ে সিজান (১০) নামের এক ছাত্রের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার (১০ই আগস্ট) সকালে ঝিনাইদহ সদর হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তার মৃত্যু হয়।
সিজান উপজেলার ২ নং দোড়া ইউনিয়নের দয়ারামপুর গ্রামের তৈয়ব আলীর ছেলে, দয়রামপুর ইসলামিয়া আলেম মাদ্রাসার ৩য় শ্রেণীর ছাত্র সিজান।
দোড়া ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের সদস্য মইদুল ইসলাম তার মৃত্যুর বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন।
তিনি জানান- সোমবার রাতে পরিবারের অন্যান্য সদস্যদের সঙ্গে ঘুমিয়ে ছিল শিশু সিজান। রাত ২ টার দিকে বিষধর সাপ তাকে দংশন করে।
পরে মঙ্গলবার সকালে উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য ঝিনাইদহ সদর হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তার মৃত্যু হয়।
তার এই মৃত্যুতে পরিবার ও এলাকায় বইছে শোকের ছায়া।
