শনিবার ভোর থেকে বেলা ১১টা পর্যন্ত সিংড়া গোল-ই-আফরোজ সরকারি অনার্স কলেজের ভিপি সজিব ইসলাম জুয়েল এর নেতৃত্বে ৫৪জন কলেজ ছাত্রলীগের নেতাকর্মীরা স্বেচ্ছায় চলনবিলের সোহাগবাড়ী ও শোলাকুড়া এলাকার ৫জন ক্ষুদ্র ও প্রান্তিক কৃষকের ধান কেটে দেয়। পরে ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীরা সে সব ধান কৃষকের বাড়িতে মাড়াই করে দেয়।
এতে করে খুশী প্রান্তিক কৃষকগণ। কৃষকরা জানান, অল্প জমি হওয়ার কারনে ধান কাটতে শ্রমিক পাওয়া যাচ্ছিল না। বিষয়টি কলেজ ছাত্রলীগের নেতাকর্মীদের মুঠোফোনে জানানো হলে প্রতিমন্ত্রী জুনাইদ
