নাটোরের বড়াইগ্রাম থেকে দুই ভূয়া র্যাব সদস্যকে গ্রেফতার করেছে র্যাব-৫। রবিবার সন্ধ্যার পর উপজেলার গোপালপুর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ এলাকা থেকে তাদের গ্রেফতার করা হয়। গ্রেফতারকৃতরা হলেন, পাবনার সাথিয়া থানার হলুদঘর এলাকার সিদ্দিকুর রহমানের ছেলে সেলিম মোর্শেদ ও একই থানার গোপালপুর এলাকার সোহরাব মাস্টারের ছেলে এরশাদ আলী। এ সময় তাদের কাছে থেকে র্যাব ও পুলিশের ভূয়া আইডি কার্ড, পুলিশ স্টিকারযুক্ত মোটর সাইকেল ১ টি, নগদ টাকা ও অন্যান্য সামগ্রী উদ্ধার করা হয়। সোমবার সকালে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংএ গ্রেফতারকৃতদের সাংবাদিকদের সামনে হাজির করে এসব তথ্য দেওয়া হয়।
র্যাব-৫ নাটোর ক্যাম্পের কোম্পানী কমান্ডার মেজর সানরিয়া চৌধুরী জানান , গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে র্যাবের একটি দল রবিবার সন্ধ্যার দিকে উপজেলার গোপালপুর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ এলাকায় অভিযান পরিচালনা করে। তারা গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে জানতে পারেন যে, গ্রেফতারকৃত ভূয়া র্যাবদ্বয় নিজেদেরকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের লোক বলে পরিচয় দিয়ে উপজেলার জোনাইল ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান তোজাম্মেল হক ও নগর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান নিলুফার ইয়াসমিন ডালুর কাছ থেকে প্রতারণা পূর্বক চাঁদা আদায় করে। পরে তারা গোপালপুর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান আব্দুস সালামের কাছেও চাঁদা দাবী করে। এমন তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে র্যাব-৫ অভিযান চালিয়ে প্রমানাদিসহ তাদেরকে আটক করে। এ ঘটনায় বড়াইগ্রাম থানায় একটি মামলা দায়েরের প্রক্রিয়া চলছে।
