মোঃ শাহীন আলম লালমনিরহাট প্রতিনিধিঃ লালমনিরহাটের হাতীবান্ধায় পুকুরের পানিতে ডুবে ইয়াসির আরাফাত (৬) নামের এক শিশুর মর্মান্তিক মৃত্যু হয়েছে।
সোমবার (২৬ এপ্রিল) সকালে উপজেলার গড্ডিমারী ইউনিয়নের কালির ডাঙ্গা নামক গ্রামে এ ঘটনাটি ঘটে। নিহত ইয়াসির আরাফাত ওই এলাকার লিটন হোসেনের পুত্র।
স্হানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, সকাল বেলা বাড়ির পাশের পুকুরে অন্যান্য বাচ্চাদের সাথে গোসল করতে যায় আরাফাত। গোসল শেষে আরাফাতসহ সকল বাচ্চারা উঠে আসে এবং পরবর্তীতে আরাফাত আবারো সকলের অগোচরে পুকুরে গোসল করতে যায়। পরে তাকে না পেয়ে পরিবারের সদস্যরা অনেক খোঁজাখুঁজির পর পুকুরের পানিতে লাশ ভাসতে দেখেন।
এবিষয়ে গড্ডিমারী ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যক্ষ আবু বক্কর সিদ্দিক শ্যামল শিশুর মৃত্যুর সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
