দৈনিক বাংলাদেশের আলো’র বিনোদন সম্পাদক প্রবীণ সাংবাদিক সেলিম চৌধুরী আর নেই।আজ সোমবার সকাল সাড়ে ১০টায় রাজধানীর লালমাটিয়া ইস্টার্ন কেয়ার হসপিটালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তিনি ইন্তেকাল করেন (ইন্নালিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন)। মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৫৫ বছর।
সেলিম চৌধুরীর পিতা মরহুম সাইদুর রহমান (সাবেক বিজিবি কর্মকর্তা) ও মা সুরাইয়া খাতুন। মৃত্যুকালে তিনি স্ত্রী, দুই কন্যা, এক ছেলে, তিন ভাই ও দুই বোন ও মাসহ অসংখ্য আত্মীয়স্বজন রেখে গেছেন। সোমবার বাদ আসর রায়েরবাজার কবরস্থানে তাকে দাফন করা হয়। প্রবীণ সাংবাদিক সেলিম চৌধুরী ভোরের ডাকসহ বিভিন্ন জাতীয় দৈনিক ও ম্যাগাজিনে কর্মরত ছিলেন।
সাংবাদিকতায় বিনোদন বিভাগে সেলিম চৌধুরীর চলচ্চিত্রের স্বর্ণযুগে তার সাবলীল লেখনির মাধ্যমে পাঠকদের হৃদয়ে বিশেষ স্থান করে নেন। ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে তিনি খুবই সাদাসিধে, হাসিখুশি ও প্রাণবন্ত একজন মানুষ ছিলেন। তার মৃত্যুতে বিনোদন জগতে শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে।
সেলিম চৌধুরীর মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করে শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি সমবেদনা জানিয়েছেন দৈনিক বাংলাদেশ আলো’র সম্পাদক ও প্রকাশক মো. মফিজুর রহমান খান বাবু ও ইউকেবিডিটিভির পরিবারসহ বাংলাদেশ আলো পরিবারের সদস্যবৃন্দ।
