ময়মনসিংহের হালুয়াঘাটে পাহাড়ি ঢলে নতূন করে গ্রামের পর গ্রাম প্লাবিত হচ্ছে বন্যার পানিতে। টানা বৃষ্টি ও উজান থেকে নেমে আসা পাহাড়ি ঢলে প্রধান সড়ক ভেঙে যাওয়ায় যাতায়াতের দুর্ভোগে পরেছেন গ্রামের বাসিন্দারা। শুক্রবার সকালে হালুয়াঘাটের বনপাড়া আর্দশ উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় অ্যান্ড কলেজ এলাকায়।
প্রধান সড়ক ভেঙে যাওয়ায় যাতায়াতে দুর্ভোগে পরেছেন গ্রামের বাসিন্দারা।
ময়মনসিংহের হালুয়াঘাট উপজেলায় কংস নদের পানি বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় এবং উজানের পানি নিম্নাঞ্চলে নেমে আসায় উপজেলার ৩ টি ইউনিয়নের ১১টি গ্রাম নতুন করে প্লাবিত হয়েছে। এ ছাড়া পানির তোড়ে ধুরাইল ইউনিয়নের বনপাড়া উচ্চবিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান সড়কটি ভেঙে পড়ায় ওই পথে যাতায়াতে দুর্ভোগে পড়ছে মানুষ।
স্থানীয় জনপ্রতিনিধি ও এলাকাবাসী সূত্রে জানা যায়, টানা বৃষ্টি ও উজান থেকে নেমে আসা পাহাড়ি ঢলে নদের কয়েকটি স্থানে বাঁধ ডুবে ও ভেঙে গেছে। এ অংশ দিয়ে পানি প্রবেশ করে উপজেলার ধুরাইল ইউনিয়নের গোরকপুর, চরগোরকপুর, পাবিয়াজুরী, কন্যাপাড়া, জৈতক ও ডোবারপাড়ায়।
আমতৈল ইউনিয়নের আমতৈল বাহিরশিমুল এলাকা ও ধারা ইউনিয়নের টিকুরিয়া, গাংগিনা, মাঝিয়ালসহ কয়েকটি নিচু এলাকাতেও নতুন করে জলাবদ্ধতা সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
শুক্রবার সকাল থেকে থেমে থেমে বৃষ্টি হওয়ায় আরও বেশি দুর্ভোগে পড়েছেন এসব ইউনিয়নের গ্রামের বাসিন্দারা। এর আগে ধুরাইল ইউনিয়নের বনপাড়া উচ্চবিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান সড়ক গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেলে পানির তোড়ে ভেঙে যায়। ফলে ওই পথে পূর্ব পাবিয়াজুরী, কন্যাপাড়া এলাকার মানুষ যাতায়াতে দুর্ভোগে পড়েন। সড়কটি ভেঙে যাওয়ায় বিকল্প পথে দুই কিলোমিটার ঘুরে যাতায়াত করতে হচ্ছে।
উপজেলা প্রশাসন ও এলাকাবাসী সূত্রে জানা যায়, গত বুধবার দিবাগত রাতে টানা বর্ষণ ও উজান থেকে নেমে আসা পাহাড়ি ঢলের পানিতে উপজেলার সীমান্তবর্তী বোরাঘাট নদের বেড়িবাঁধ ভেঙেে গেছে। তবে পৌরসভার কিছু কিছু এলাকায় শুক্রবারও পানি আটকে থাকতে দেখা গেছে।
উপজেলার দর্শা এলাকার বাসিন্দা রহিম উদ্দিন বলেন, এলাকার কৃষকের আমনের বীজতলাসহ বাড়িঘরে পানি প্রবেশ করেছে। গোরকপুর গ্রামের বাসিন্দা মুজিবুর রহমান বলেন, গত রাত থেকে নতুন করে ঢলের ও বৃষ্টির পানিতে ৩টি ইউনিয়নের প্রায় ১১টি গ্রাম প্লাবিত হয়েছে। এতে আমনের বীজতলা ও এলাকার পুকুরের মাছ পানিতে ভেসে গেছে।
ধুরাইল ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান ওয়ারিছ উদ্দিন জানান, নিম্নাঞ্চল হওয়ায় এবং নদের ভাঙনে বৃহস্পতিবার রাত থেকে ১১টি গ্রাম নতুন করে প্লাবিত হয়ে পড়েছে। ইউএনওকে বিষয়টি জানানো হয়েছে। নদের ভাঙন রোধে চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে। পানি নেমে গেলে ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ জানা যাবে।
এ বিষয়ে উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) রেজাউল করিম বলেন, ইউপি চেয়ারম্যানদের কাছ থেকে ক্ষতির পরিমাণ জানতে চাওয়া হয়েছে। এ ছাড়া উপজেলার জন্য পাঁচ টন খাদ্যসামগ্রী বরাদ্দ দেওেয়া হয়েছে।
