সাতক্ষীরায় গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় করোনায় আক্রান্ত ও উপসর্গ নিয়ে আরও আটজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (২৫ জুন) জেলা করোনা বিষয়ক তথ্য কর্মকর্তা ডা. জয়ন্ত কুমার সরকার এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন।
তিনি বলেন, এর মধ্যে সাতক্ষীরা মেডিকেল কলেজ (সমাকে) হাসপাতালে সাতজন ও শহরের একটি বেসরকারি ক্লিনিকে একজন মারা গেছেন। তারা সবাই জ্বর, সর্দি-কাশি ও শ্বাসকষ্ট নিয়ে গত ১৪ জুন থেকে ২৪ জুনের মধ্যে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন।
ডা. জয়ন্ত কুমার সরকার বলেন, সাতক্ষীরা মেডিকেল কলেজ (সমাকে) হাসপাতাল ও বেসরকারি ক্লিনিকে ৪০৭ জন রোগী ভর্তি রয়েছেন। এদের মধ্যে সামেক হাসপাতালের ২৭০ জনের মধ্যে ২৬ জন করোনা পজিটিভ রোগী রয়েছেন।
সাতক্ষীরা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক কুদরত-ই-খোদা বলেন, সামেকে মৃত সাতজনের মধ্যে একজন করোনা ও বাকিরা উপসর্গ নিয়ে হৃদযন্ত্রের ক্রিয়া বন্ধ হয়ে মারা গেছেন। স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে তাদের মরদেহ দাফনের জন্য বলা হয়েছে।
এনিয়ে জেলায় করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়ে ৬৭ জন মারা গেছেন। উপসর্গ নিয়ে মারা গেছেন অন্তত ৩০২ জন
