পঞ্চগড় জেলার আটোয়ারী উপজেলায় বজ্রপাতে মর্জিনা খাতুন (৩০) নামে এক নারীর মৃত্যু হয়েছে।আটোয়ারী উপজেলার মানিকপীর কবরস্থান এলাকায় বজ্রপাতের ঘটনাটি ঘটে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (১১ জুন) দুপুরে নাউগজ স্বামীর বাড়ি থেকে ছোট ভাইয়ের সাথে মোটরসাইকেলে করে আটোয়ারী উপজেলার মির্জাপুর ইউনিয়নের পানিয়াপোখরি উদ্দেশ্য যাচ্ছিলেন।যাওয়ার পথে বৃষ্টি শুরু হলে রাস্তায় একটি গাছের নিচে দাঁড়ায়।বৃষ্টি পড়ার সময় আকাশের শব্দের সাথেই বজ্রপাত হয় এবং মর্জিনা খাতুন সেখানে গুরুতরভাবে আহত হয়।
পরে রাস্তার পথচারীদের সহযোগিতায় জরুরী অবস্থায় আটোয়ারী উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্স নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক মর্জিনা খাতুনকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। পথচারীরা জানান মর্জিনা খাতুনের অবস্থা সেখানেই আশঙ্কাজনক ছিল।
নিহত মর্জিনা খাতুনের বাড়ি আটোয়ারী উপজেলার তোড়েয়া ইউনিয়ন নাউগজ এলাকার বাবুল হোসেনের স্ত্রী।এ বিষয়ে আটোয়ারী থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) ইজার উদ্দীন নিশ্চিত করেন।
