তাপস কর,মমনসিংহ প্রতিনিধিঃ ময়মনসিংহ নগরীতে ৯৯ এ ফোন করায় বাল্যবিয়ে বন্ধ করা হল। এই বাল্যবিয়ে বন্ধ করল কারিতাস আলোকিত শিশু টিম। আজ রবিবার দুপুরে এ বিয়ে বন্ধ করার ঘটনা ঘটে।
সংশ্লিষ্টরা জানান, নগরীর পাটদুগাম দুলদুল ক্যাম্পে একটি বাল্যবিয়ের খবর জানতে পারে কারিতাস আলোকিত শিশু টিম। সেখানে গিয়ে জানা যায় মেয়েটির বয়স ১৭ বছর ৪ মাস। সে এবার এসএসসি পরীক্ষা দেবে। তার পরিবারের লোকজন তাকে জোর করে চাচাতো ভাইয়ের সঙ্গে আজ বিয়ে তারিখ নির্ধারণ করেন।
অভিভাবকদের বুঝিয়ে কাজ না হওয়ায় কারিতাস আলোকিত শিশু টিম ৯৯৯-এ ফোন করে। এরপর পুলিশ এসে এ বিয়ে বন্ধ করে দেয়। সাবালক না হলে মেয়েটিকে পরিবারের লোকজন বিয়ে দেবে না বলে অঙ্গীকার প্রদান করেন।
