ই-কমার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশ (ই-ক্যাব) এর সদস্য প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে বিদেশে অর্থ পাঠানোর অনুমিতি দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক। এর ফলে এখন থেকে অনুমোদন ছাড়াই চলতি হিসাবের যৌক্তিক ব্যয় বাবদ বছরে ১০ হাজার ডলার বিদেশে পাঠাতে পারবেন ই-ক্যাব সদস্যরা।
রোববার বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের বৈদেশিক মুদ্রানীতি বিভাগ এই নির্দেশনা দিয়ে একটি প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করেছে।
এতে বলা হয়েছে, বাৎসরিক কোটা সীমার মধ্য থেকে সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানের মনোনীত কর্মকর্তার নামে ২ হাজার ডলারের আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রেডিট ও প্রিপেইড কার্ড ইস্যু করতে পারবে। কার্ডে পুনরায় বৈদেশিক মুদ্রার অর্থ রাখা যাবে। তবে কার্ডের মাধ্যমে এবং প্রচলিত ব্যাংকিং ব্যবস্থার আওতায় বিদেশে প্রেরিত অর্থের পরিমাণ কোনো অবস্থাতেই ১০ হাজার ডলারের বেশি হতে পারবে না।
প্রজ্ঞাপনে বাৎসরিক কোটার আওতায় বিদেশে রেমিট্যান্স প্রেরণের ক্ষেত্রে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা লেনদেন বিধিবিধান, করাদি/ভ্যাট কর্তন ও জমা, ই-ক্যাবের সুপারিশসহ বিষয়গুলো পরিপালনের জন্য অনুমোদিত ডিলার ব্যাংকগুলোকে বলা হয়েছে।
২০১৫ সালে ই-ক্যাব এর যাত্রা শুরু হয়। বর্তমানে সংগঠনটির সদস্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের সংখ্যা ৭০০।
