জয়পুরহাটে রাস্তার দু’পাশে রশি ধরে ডাকাতির প্রস্তÍতির সময় দেশীয় অস্ত্র ও একটি অ্যাম্বুলেন্সসহ ডাকাত দলের ৫ জন সদস্যদের আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
শুক্রবার রাত সাড়ে ১১টার দিকে সদরের জামালপুর ইউনিয়নের দাদড়া পাকারমাথা এলাকা থেকে তাদের আটক করা হয়।
আটককৃতরা হলেন- জয়পুরহাট সদরের হাড়াইল এলাকার মন্টু হোসেনের ছেলে আবির হাসান (২৬), সোটাহার উত্তরপাড়া এলাকার আ. আলিমের ছেলে রনিআকরাম (২৭), হানাইল বম্বু এলাকার মৃত আফজাল হোসেনের ছেলে নয়ন (২৯), হাড়াইল বাবুপাড়া এলাকার বকুল মিয়ার ছেলে খুশিবুজ্জামান খুশিব (২৪) ও দিনাজপুরের বিরামপুর উপজেলার ছোট মানুষ মোড়া গ্রামের মৃত মোজাহার আলীর ছেলে হাবিবুর রহমান (২৭)। সে জয়পুরহাট শহরের আরাফাত নগর এলাকায় বসবাস করে।
জয়পুরহাট থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) একেএম আলমগীর জাহান বলেন, ডাকাত সদস্যরা দুভাগে বিভক্ত হয়ে রাস্তার দু’পাশে রশি ধরে ডাকাতির প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে এমন খবর পেয়ে সেখানে গেলে তারা পালানোর চেষ্টা করলে এককিলোমিটার ধাওয়া করে পাঁচজনকে আটক করা হয়।
এসময় আরও কয়েকজন পালিয়ে যায়। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা হবে।
