পাইকগাছায় নদী থেকে দেশীয় প্রজাতি পোনা আহরণ করে বিক্রির সময় ভ্রাম্যমান আদালতে প্রায় ৩লক্ষাধিক পোনা জব্দ করে নদীতে অবমুক্ত করা হয়েছে।
বুধবার রাত সাড়ে দশটার দিকে উপজেলার গোলাবাটির মৃত আমির হোসেনের ছেলে কাদের বিশ্বাস,একই এলাকার কালু বিশ্বাসের ছেলে আশিক বিশ্বাস দুই জন নদী থেকে আহরিত টেংরা,পারিশা পোনা ঘেরে বিক্রির জন্য যাচ্ছিলেন। করোনা কালীন ডিউটি করার সময় পাইকগাছার জিরো পয়েন্টে নির্বাহী ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট ও নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা এবিএম খালিদ হোসেন সিদ্দিকী তাদের আটক করে।
আটককৃতদের ক্ষমা করলেও তাদের প্রায় তিন লক্ষ দেশীয় প্রজাতির মাছের পোনা শিবসা নদীতে অবমুক্ত করা হয়। এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিনয়র মৎস্য কর্মকর্তা পবিত্র কুমার দাস, পেশকার দীপংকর প্রসাদ মল্লিক সহ স্থানীয় গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তি বর্গ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
