ঢাকা-টাঙ্গাইল-বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু মহাসড়কের কালিহাতীতে দুই ট্রাকের মুখামুখি সংঘর্ষে একজন নিহত হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছে আরও পাঁচ জন। রোববার ভোরে বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু মহাসড়কের পাথাইলকান্দি ২নং ব্রীজের কাছে এই দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে হতাহতদের নাম পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়নি।
এলেঙ্গা ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স এর ফায়ারম্যান রুবেল রানা জানান, উত্তরবঙ্গ থেকে ছেড়ে আসা ময়মনসিংহ গামী একটি আম বোঝাই ট্রাক বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু মহাসড়কের পাথাইলকান্দি ২নং ব্রীজের কাছে পৌছালে উত্তরবঙ্গগামী উপর একটি ট্রাকের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। এতে ময়মনসিংহগামী ট্রাকটি দুমড়ে মুচড়ে যায়। ট্রাকে থাকা হেলপার ঘটনস্থলেই মারা যান। গরুতর আহত ট্রাকচালকসহ ৫ জনকে উদ্ধার করে টাঙ্গাইল সদর হাসপাতারে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
