সৌদি আরবের কর্তৃপক্ষ সেদেশের মসজিদগুলোতে লাগানো লাউডস্পিকারের শব্দের ওপর বিধিনিষেধ আরোপ করেছে। এ নিয়ে সমালোচনা হলেও কর্তৃপক্ষ তাদের সিদ্ধান্তের পক্ষে অনড় রয়েছে।
গত সপ্তাহে সৌদি আরবের ইসলাম বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় ঘোষণা করে যে – সব লাউডস্পিকার সর্বোচ্চ যত জোরে বাজানো যায় – তার এক তৃতীয়াংশ ভলিউমে বাজাতে হবে।
ইসলামিক বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী আবদুললতিফ আল-শেখ বলেন, সাধারণ জনগণের মধ্যে থেকে আসা অভিযোগ আমলে নিয়েই তারা এ পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছেন।
কিন্তু এই রক্ষণশীল মুসলিম দেশটিতে কর্তৃপক্ষের এই নির্দেশ সামাজিক মাধ্যমে বিরূপ প্রতিক্রিয়া সৃষ্টি করেছে।
টুইটারে একটি হ্যাশট্যাগ ট্রেন্ডিং করতে শুরু করে – যাতে রেস্তোরাঁ ও ক্যাফেগুলোতে উচ্চগ্রামে মিউজিক বাজানো নিষিদ্ধ করার দাবি জানানো হয়।
মি. শেখ বলেন, তারা যে অভিযোগগুলো পেয়েছেন তার মধ্যে অনেক অভিভাবক রয়েছেন, এবং তারা বলছেন, লাউডস্পিকারের কারণে তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের ঘুমের ব্যাঘাত হচ্ছে।
