করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ অব্যাহতভাবে বাড়তে থাকায় ব্যাংকের মতো আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোও আগামী রবি ও বুধবার (১ ও ৪ আগস্ট) বন্ধ থাকবে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (২৯ জুলাই) বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান ও বাজার বিভাগ এ সংক্রান্ত নির্দেশনা জারি করে।
এতে বলা হয়েছে, বিদ্যমান পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় আগামী ১ ও ৪ আগস্ট আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো বন্ধ থাকবে। ২, ৩ ও ৫ আগস্ট (সোম, মঙ্গল ও বৃহস্পতিবার) সকাল ১০টা থেকে বিকেল ৩টা পর্যন্ত সীমিত পরিসরে এসব প্রতিষ্ঠান খোলা থাকবে।
এর আগে ১৪ জুলাই জারি করা সার্কুলারের অন্যান্য নির্দেশনা অপরিবর্তিত থাকবে।
আগের নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী, বিধিনিষেধ চলাকালে গ্রাহকের হিসাবে মেয়াদপূর্তিতে স্থায়ী আমানত নগদায়ন, ঋণের কিস্তি জমা গ্রহণসহ জরুরি কাজ করা যাবে। তবে অফিস খোলা রাখার ক্ষেত্রে মাস্ক পরিধানসহ স্বাস্থ্যবিধি কঠোরভাবে অনুসরণ করে সীমিত সংখ্যক লোকবলের মাধ্যমে সেবাদানের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করতে বলেছে কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক।
আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর সর্বোচ্চ দুটি শাখা (একটি ঢাকায় ও অপরটি ঢাকার বাইরে) এবং প্রধান কার্যালয়ের সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভাগ খোলা রাখা যাবে। বিধিনিষেধ চলাকালে কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীদের চলাচলের সময় নিজ নিজ প্রতিষ্ঠানের পরিচয়পত্র বহন করতে হবে।
আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান আইন, ১৯৯৩ এর ১৮(ছ) ধারায় প্রদত্ত ক্ষমতাবলে এ নির্দেশনা জারি করা হয়েছে বলে সার্কুলারে বলা হয়।
