স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক জানিয়েছেন, করোনা সংক্রমণ নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে প্রতি মাসে ১ কোটি টিকা দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে। সেই অনুযায়ী কাজ চলছে। আজ রবিবার বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিক্যাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (বিএসএমএমইউ) ফিল্ড হাসপাতাল পরিদর্শনে গিয়ে এ তথ্য জানান মন্ত্রী।
স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক আরো বলেন, করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত রোগীদের সংখ্যা বাড়ছেই। এ অবস্থায় বাড়তি চাপ সামলাতে আগামী ৩১ জুলাই থেকে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিক্যাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (বিএসএমএমইউ) ফিল্ড হাসপাতাল চালু হবে। তিনি বলেন, দেশে আবারও করোনার সংক্রমণ বাড়তে শুরু করেছে। এ অবস্থায় শিগগিরই হাসপাতালগুলোতে শয্যা সংকট দেখা দিতে পারে।
স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক বলেন, শহরে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করোনা রোগীর ৭৫ শতাংশ গ্রাম থেকে আসা। ঈদে গ্রামে যাওয়া আসার কারণে করোনা সংক্রমণ ৫ থেকে ৬ গুণ বেড়েছে। রাজধানীতে ডেঙ্গু আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় সরকার ডেঙ্গু ও করোনা রোগীদের জন্য আলাদা হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছে।
