চলতি মাসেই করোনাভাইরাসের ৩৫ লাখ ডোজ টিকা আসার কথা রয়েছে। এরমধ্যে আগামী সপ্তাহে জাপান থেকে কোভ্যাক্সের আওতায় ২৫ লাখের মতো টিকা আসতে পারে।আর জুলাইয়ের শেষে ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন (ইইউ) থেকে ১০ লাখের মতো টিকা আসবে।
পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. একে আবদুল মোমেন বুধবার রাজধানীর নিজ বাসভবনে সাংবাদিকদের কাছে এ প্রত্যাশার কথা জানিয়েছেন।
পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী বলেন, আমার সঙ্গে জাপানের পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর আলাপ হয়েছে। ওরা (জাপান) অন্য দেশকে টিকা দিয়েছে, সেটা আমরা তুলে ধরেছি। তারা বলেছে, আমাদের দেবে তবে সঠিক পরিমাণটা বলেনি। বড় অংকের টিকা জাপান দেবে, আশা করি আড়াই মিলিয়নের মতো হবে। যে কোনো দিন আসবে, আগামী সপ্তাহে জাপান কোভ্যাক্স থেকে টিকা দিবে, এটা আমরা পাব।
জাপান কোন টিকা দেবে- এমন প্রশ্নে তিনি বলেন, জাপানের কাছ থেকে আমরা অ্যাস্ট্রাজেনেকার টিকা পাব। তাদের কাছে অ্যাস্ট্রাজেনেকার টিকা আছে। এসব বড় বড় দেশ বহু টিকা সংগ্রহ করেছে বা লাইন আপ করে রেখেছে।
ইইউ থেকে টিকা আসার বিষয়ে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী বলেন, কোভ্যাক্সের আন্ডারে তারা (ইইউ) ১ মিলিয়ন (১০ লাখ) টিকা দেবে। আমাদের জেনেভার রাষ্ট্রদূত জানিয়েছে, ইইউ দেশগুলো থেকে আমরা এক মিলিয়ন টিকা পাব। এটা চলতি মাসের শেষের দিকে পাওয়া যেতে পারে।
