মন্ত্রী বলেন, স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের থেকে পরামর্শ থাকল যে, সব জেলায় কোভিডের সংক্রমণ ঊর্ধ্বমুখী সেখানে আমাদের পরামর্শ লকডাউন দেওয়া হোক। যাতে সারাদেশে ছড়িয়ে না পড়ে। করোনা যে দেশে বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে সেদেশে অর্থনীতি মারাত্মকভাবে ভেঙে পড়েছে। আমরা চাই না, ইকোনমি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হোক।
করোনা সংক্রমণ বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ার পরেও সীমান্তবর্তী সাত জেলায় লকডাউন না করা প্রসঙ্গে জানতে চাইলে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, ওই জেলাগুলোতে আম, লিচুসহ মৌসুমি ফল উৎপাদন হয়েছে। এসব ফল ওইসব অঞ্চলের প্রধান অর্থকরী ফসল। চাষিরা যাতে সেগুলো বাজারজাত করতে পারেন, এই মানবিক চিন্তা থেকেই সেখানে লকডাউন করা হয়নি।
রাশিয়ার টিকা পাওয়ার বিষয়ে তিনি বলেন, রাশিয়া থেকেও আমরা টিকা পাব। এ বিষয়ে আলাপ-আলোচনা চলছে।
