বুধবার জাতীয় সংসদের প্রশ্নোত্তরে চট্টগ্রাম-৪ আসনের সরকারদলীয় সংসদ সদস্য দিদারুল আলমের প্রশ্নের জবাবে এ তথ্য জানান অর্থমন্ত্রী।

সংসদে অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমানে বৈদেশিক ঋণের স্থিতি ৪৯ হাজার ৪৫৮ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার। পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো থেকে প্রাপ্ত তথ্য অনুযায়ী, দেশে মোট জনসংখ্যা ১৬৯ দশমিক ৩১ মিলিয়ন। এই হিসাবে মাথাপিছু বৈদেশিক ঋণের পরিমাণ ২৯২ দশমিক ১১ মার্কিন ডলার। প্রতি ডলার ৮৫.২১ টাকা হিসাবে বাংলাদেশি টাকায় এর পরিমাণ দাঁড়ায় ২৪ হাজার ৮৯০ টাকা ৬৯ পয়সা।
সংসদ সদস্য দিদারুল আলমের প্রশ্নের জবাবে অর্থমন্ত্রী আরও জানান, বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন সহযোগী দেশ/সংস্থার সঙ্গে চলতি বছরের ৩০ জুন পর্যন্ত ঋণ চুক্তির পরিমাণ ৯৫ হাজার ৯০৮ দশমিক ৩৪ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার। এর মধ্যে ৫৯ হাজার ৪৫৮ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার ছাড় হয়েছে। ছাড়ের অপেক্ষায় আছে ৪৬ হাজার ৪৫০ দশমিক ৩৪ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার।
