ঘুমধুমের তুমব্রু বাজারে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকান্ডে ৫ দোকান পুড়ে ছাই : ক্ষয়ক্ষতি ২০লাখ টাকা
বান্দরবান জেলার নাইক্ষ্যংছড়ির ঘুমমধুম ইউনিয়ন সংলগ্ন তুমব্রু বাজারে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকান্ডের ঘটনায় ৫টি দোকান ভস্মীভূত হয়ে ব্যাপক ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে।
সোমবার ৬ সেপ্টেম্বর ভোর ৪টা ২০ মিনিটের দিকে তুমব্রু বাজারে এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের সুত্রপাত হয়।
স্থানীয়রা জানান, বাজারে ৪টা ২০ মিনিটের দিকে হঠাৎ ছৈয়দনুর মার্কেটে একটি বয়লার মুরগির দোকান থেকে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটলে ব্যবসায়ী ও স্থানীয়রা আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে সক্ষম হয়। আগুনের সুত্রপাত দেখে তৎমূহর্তেই বাংলাদেশ সিভিল ডিফেন্স উখিয়ার ফায়ার সার্ভিসকে খবর দেয়। অগ্নিকান্ডের খবর পেয়ে উখিয়া ফায়ার সার্ভিস দ্রুত বাজারে এসে পৌছাঁনোর আগে স্হানীয়দের দুর্দান্ত পরিশ্রমের সমন্বয়ে ভোর ৫ টার দিকে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে সক্ষম হয়। ততক্ষণে ৫ টি ভিন্ন রকমের দোকান আগুনে ভস্মীভূত হয়।
উক্ত দোকানের আনুমানিক ২০ লাখ টাকার চেয়েও বেশী মালামাল ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে বলে স্থানীয় ব্যবসায়ীকরা জানান।
বাংলাদেশ সিভিল ডিফেন্স উখিয়ার দায়িত্বরত অফিসার এমদাদুল হক, তুমব্রু বাজারে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের খবর পেয়ে দ্রুততার সাথে ঘটনাস্থলে এসে পৌছেঁ অগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করেন।
আর এদিকে, নাইক্ষ্যংছড়ি উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক বোরহান আজিজের নেতৃত্বে ছাত্র-লীগের কর্মীরাও আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণ করেন।
ছাত্রলীগ সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক বোরহান আজিজ জানান,
স্থানীয়দের সহযোগিতায় এবং ইউনিয়ন ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীদের নিয়ে মার্কেটের সব দোকান রক্ষা করার চেষ্টা চালিয়ে ছিলাম। তবে পানির সংকট আর ফায়ার সার্ভিস ষ্টেশন দূরত্ব হওয়ার কারনে ৫টি দোকান রক্ষা করতে পরি নাই। আগুণের সূত্রপাত কোথায় থকে তা
