ঢাকার সাভার উপজেলা রাজফুলবাড়িয়া এলাকায় সিঙ্গার বাংলাদেশ লিঃ এর একটি ইলেকট্রনিক্স ওয়্যারহাউজে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রনে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ১০টি ইউনিট কাজ করছে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (৫ আগস্ট) সকাল ৮ টা ২০ মিনিটের দিকে সাভারের রাজফুলবাড়িয়া এলাকার সিঙ্গার ইলেকট্রনিকসের ওয়্যারহাউজে এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে।মূলত সিঙ্গার বাংলাদেশ লিঃ কোম্পানীর এ ওয়্যারহাউজে ফ্রিজ ও এয়ার কন্ডিশন তৈরি হতো।
ফায়ার সার্ভিস জানায়, সকাল সাড়ে ৮ টার দিকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হলে ফায়ার সার্ভিসকে খবর দেওয়া হয়। পরে সাভার ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ২টি ও ডিইপিজেড ফায়ার সার্ভিস দুই ইউনিটসহ মোট ৪ টি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ শুরু করে। আগুনের তীব্রতা বেশি হওয়ায় সাভার ট্যানারি ফাঁড়ির আরও একটি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ শুরু করে। এতেও আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রনে না আসায় অতিরিক্ত আরও ৫টি ইউনিট যুক্ত হয়।
সাভার ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সিনিয়র স্টেশন অফিসার জহিরুল ইসলাম জানান, আগুনের তীব্রতা অনেক। আমরা সাধ্যমত চেষ্টা করছি। প্রাথমিকভাবে আগুনের সূত্রপাত সম্পর্কে জানা যায় নি।
