ইসলাম ধর্মের প্রশংসা করে পুতিন বলেন, এটি শান্তির ধর্ম, এ ধর্মের অনুসারীরা ঐতিহ্যগত ভাবে সুশৃঙ্খল এবং রাষ্ট্রীয় নিয়ম-নীতির প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল।
মুসলিমরা খুবই সামাজিক এবং তাদের শিষ্টাচার ও পারিবারিক বন্ধন অটুট।
পৃথক বিবৃতিতে রুশ প্রধানমন্ত্রী মিখাইল মিশুসতিনও মুসলিমদের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছেন।
তিনি বলেন, রাশিয়ার মুসলিমরা নিজ দেশের মূল্যবোধকে ধারন করে এবং দেশের অগ্রগতিতে অবদান রাখছে। এ কারণে রাশিয়ায় দিন দিন দ্যূতি ছড়াচ্ছে এবং প্রসার ঘটছে ইসলামের।
ইদুল আজহা উপলক্ষে মস্কোর মেয়র সার্গে সোবিয়ানিনও পৃথক বাণীতে মুসলিমদের শুভেচ্ছা জানান।
