নওগাঁয় করোনা সংক্রমণ বেড়ে যাওয়ায় এক সপ্তাহের বিশেষ লকডাউন ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।
বুধবার (২ জুন) দুপুরে জেলা প্রশাসক হারুন অর রশীদ সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানান।
তিনি বলেন, বুধবার (৩ জুন) দিনগত রাত ১২টা ১মিনিট থেকে এ বিশেষ লকডাউন কার্যকর হবে। চলবে আগামী ৯ জুন রাত ১২টা পর্যন্ত।
জেলা প্রশাসক আরও বলেন, গত রোববার (৩০ মে) জেলায় করোনাভাইরাস সংক্রমণের বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় মন্ত্রীপরিষদ বিভাগের এক স্মারকে এ নির্দেশনা দেয়া হয়। সেই নির্দেশনা মোতাবেক গত মঙ্গলবার (১ জুন) জেলার করোনা পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলায় করণীয় শীর্ষক সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় সিদ্ধান্তক্রমে করোনা ভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ রোধকল্পে ১৫টি নির্দেশনা গ্রহণ করা হয়।
তিনি বলেন, জেলার নিয়ামতপুর উপজেলার পাশে চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ জেলা। সীমান্তবর্তী জেলা হওয়ায় সেখানে করোনা সংক্রমণের হার বেড়েছে। এ কারণে নিয়ামতপুর উপজেলায় সংক্রমণের হার বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। এছাড়া জেলা শহরের সঙ্গে বাকি ১০ উপজেলায় যোগাযোগ থাকায় নওগাঁ পৌরসভাতেও সংক্রমণ বেড়েছে। এ কারণে জেলা শহরসহ অভ্যন্তরীণ ও দূরপাল্লাপর বাস চলাচল বন্ধ করা হয়েছে।
এসময় পুলিশ সুপার প্রকৌশলী আব্দুল মান্নান মিয়া, সিভিল সার্জন ডা. এবিএম আবু হানিফ প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
